1. Surya Namaskar – Surya namaskar is one of the most reputable and widely practised asanas. It is also called Sun Salutation and includes twelve different poses. These poses focus on different parts of the body and help to reduce weight, stress, and anxiety. One of the 12 poses includes Bhujangasana also known as Cobra pose which is good for weight loss.

How To Do It –

  • Lie straight on your stomach.
  • Place your hands under your shoulders and gently lift your head and chest.
  • Try to remain in that position for 15 seconds, rest and repeat.

2. Trikonasana – Trikonasana is also known as Triangular pose. It helps to strengthen the muscles in the hips, back, and thighs. It also tones the ankles and knees. Trikonasana is known to improve overall stability and balance, both mentally and physically and helps to lose weight.

How To Do It –

  • Stand straight with your feet wide apart and turn your right foot away from your body (toes pointing outward).
  • Turn your left foot slightly inward so that the back of your toe is about 45-degree angle.
  • Raise your arms outward, parallel to the floor.
  • Inhale, bend your body to the right and then exhale.
  •  Repeat the same with your left side.

3. Dhanurasana – Dhanurasana is also known as the Bow pose. It strengthens and stretches the chest and abdomen, improves body posture, tone legs, reduces menstrual pain and helps to lose weight.

How To Do It –

  • Lie on your stomach with your arms by the side and feet hip-width apart.
  • Now hold your ankles by folding your knees.
  • While breathing in, lift your chest and pull your legs back and up.
  • After 20 seconds release your ankles and repeat after 10 seconds.

4. Nauka Chalan – It is also known as the Boat pose. It strengthens the hips, thighs and shoulder muscles, helps to lose weight, improves the working of kidney, prostate and thyroid glands.

How To Do It –

  • Sit on the floor with your legs straight, placing your hands behind your hips on the floor.
  • Lift your legs and slightly lean back.
  • Make a 45-degree angle with your thighs and stretch your arms as well.
  • Maintain the posture for 20 seconds, relax and then repeat.

5. Pavanmuktasana – It is also known as the Wind releasing pose. Pavanmuktasana is the best to cure constipation, acidity indigestion, gastrointestinal problems, heart problems, waist pain. It also strengthens back muscles and cures back pain.

How To Do It –

  • Lie on your back and keep your legs straight.
  • Inhale while lifting your legs and bend them at the knees.
  • Clasp your knees with both of your hands and press them against your stomach.
  • Try to touch your nose to your knees and hold the position for 20 seconds.
  • Go back to the initial position and repeat.
